As a selected startup in the 2024 PLASMA Cohort (UC Davis Startup Center), we provide unique real-world engineering experience in rapid prototyping, project management, user-oriented design, and showcase a passion for STEM education & community impact.

Mechanical Designers
Arduino Specialists
Graphic Designer
Responsibilites:
- Use CAD software to rapidly design, prototype and 3D print components for Make Box robot kits.
- Work closely with Arduino specialist to construct easy-to-assemble robots with various functions and abilities
- Create visually appealing, intuitive, and compact robots designed to support different electrical components.
- Attend flexible online meetings with the Make Box team
Responsibilites:
- Design electrical and software components of Make Box robot kits
- Create simple schematic diagrams for summer camp instructors and students (TinkerCAD, EasyEDA)
- Work closely with mechanical designer to construct easy-to-assemble robots with various functions and abilities
- Build and test Arduino-controlled robots involving LEDs, servos, sensors, and more
- Write and communicate Arduino programs (C++) for summer camp instructors and students
- Attend flexible online meetings with the Make Box team
Responsibilities:
- Design flyers, animations, and other graphics to promote the Make Box brand (CANVA, Adobe Software)
- Work closely with marketing and web design teams to create a compelling brand image
- Compose creative graphics for a variety of media
- Attend flexible online meetings with the Make Box team
Social Media Marketing & Outreach
Educational Instructors
Website Designer
Responsibilities:
- Market Make Box kits and programs to middle school students and parents across various social media platforms
- Work closely with graphic designer to create a compelling brand image
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase brand visibility and encourage customer interaction
- Respond to user messages, inquiries, and comments
- Maintain a consistent and professional voice for the brand
- Communicate with existing programs and associations to widen the reach of the Make Box’s impact
Responsibilities:
- Opportunity to teach 1-to-2-week virtual summer camps/programs to middle school students (dates TBD)
- Contribute to curriculum design for Make Box kit lines Guide students through assembling robotics kits
- Understand and emphasize the importance of engineering principles used in projects to students
- Create video demonstrations for robotics kits
- Attend flexible online meetings with the Make Box team
- Inspire excitement in STEM!

- Overall website design & maintenance
- Responsive design across desktops, tablets, mobile devices
- Design forms (registration, purchase)
